Financial Services Commission ‘Forward Looking’ Conference

The Financial Commission (FSC) organised a high-level two-day conference at the InterContinental

Mauritius Resort, on 19 and 20 September 2018 in Mauritius.

The conference focused on the latest trends impacting Mauritius as an International Financial Centre in line with Government’s Vision 2030 and the Blueprint on “Innovating and transforming the Mauritius IFC 2030” to double the size of the financial service sector.

Participants comprised CEOs and key decision makers of Management Companies and other financial entities regulated by the FSC, banks, law firms, advisory firms, researchers and academics.

Among topics discussed by eminent international panelists and industry experts:

  • Innovating the Mauritius International Financial Centre
  • Recent reform of the Global Business Sector
  • Enabling Framework for Financial Technologies in Mauritius
  • Compliance and Anti Money Laundering Aspects for the Financial Services Landscape

The event was also marked by the unveiling of the new FSC logo by the Honourable Prime Minister. After more than 17 years of existence, the FSC is called upon to play a more dynamic role in line with its mandate. The new identity reflects the new thrust that is being given to the FSC.

The FSC also launched a new mobile application for instant communication and better proximity with its stakeholders.
